| :for example, did you notice any visible tread loss before and after the run? depends on the driver. I will kill a set of Kuhmo Victor racers (too the chord) in about 4 weekends of road course events. if your green, you wont make a dent in em. if your fast, then you can destroy a set of street tires in one day.
I'd kill to try out my car on a track like that, but to my knowledge there aren't any events like this around here... contact your local porsche club. or, contact these fine folks in your neighboring geographic area ( [ http://www.pca.org/regions/zone_1.html ] ). the PCA is renowned in the USA for hosting 'drivers education events' that allow you to do this for a modest fee ($200-$300usd) :And another thing...did you need to hold a special license of somesort to be allowed on that track or is it open to anyone? no special license required. about the only requirements are a snell 90 or sa2000 rated helmet, long pants, sneakers, and long sleeved cotton shirt. these events really let you get to know your capabilities and your cars capabilities. it makes you a safer driver at speed.
